Course Description

This module is part of a series of four looking at supporting and promoting independence. In this module, we look at the way that culture and spirituality affect the way the people prefer to receive care. Spirituality and culture are important aspects of a person’s identity, and the way that support workers interact with these aspects of person-hood can affect the client’s well-being and resilience – in positive or negative ways. This module is about choosing to positively support the client in ways that respect and value the client’s culture and spirituality.

Supporting spirituality and providing culturally appropriate care (Aged Care Quality Standards 1, 2, 3 4, and 7; National Standards for Disability Services 1, 2, and 3)
