What you'll learn

  • Identify the hazards associated with carbon dioxide (CO2) in both gaseous and solid states.
  • Understand the dangers of CO2 displacing oxygen in confined spaces, leading to suffocation risks.
  • Learn proper storage and handling procedures for CO2 to avoid dangerous concentrations in the workplace.
Course Description

Carbon dioxide (CO₂) is all around us, but in concentrated form it can be deadly — displacing oxygen and creating hidden suffocation hazards. Identifying CO₂ risks in both gaseous and solid (dry ice) forms, storing it safely, and preventing accidental exposure are all key skills you need when working with it. This course will help you understand OSHA’s monitoring standards, appropriate protective equipment, and emergency response steps to keep everyone safe.
