Course Description

Course Introduction

Organizations are having to move fast to keep up with technological advances in the marketplace—they need to be agile, forward thinking, lean, innovative and have the ability to make full use of resources. It is up to the management to lead this change to be technology savvy and efficient. Terri Griffith is an expert in helping organizations achieve their business goals through use of practical strategies at the management level.

In this course, Griffith explains philosophies she laid out in her book The Plugged-In Manager. She explains what a plugged-in organization is in terms of corporate strategy and overall corporate structure; how being plugged-in does not mean utilizing every new technology, but being focused on creating an organizational structure that is agile and more aware; how organizations can assess whether they are plugged-in. She talks about the philosophy of “Lead by Letting Go”, and how disruptive technology is affecting organizations and opportunities it provides for growth. She discusses ways organizations can support innovation and describes the “Stop, Look, and Listen” strategy, the benefits of transparency, and the future of corporate management.
