Course Overview

A duty of care is “A moral or legal obligation to ensure the safety or well-being of others”. It’s an obligation well understood by employers and parents – and in health and social care it’s of particular importance. This short course will prepare you for all the different factors you need to consider when you your health or social care role includes an explicit duty of care.


Target Audience

This course is ideal for you if you’re new to a healthcare support worker or adult social care worker role. It’s for any staff providing direct care to patients or individuals. This course will also be useful for you if you’re moving to a new role within your organisation or simply want to refresh your knowledge of the Skills for Care Certificate.
