How do we protect confidential information? You need to be aware of what confidential information you control and take great care as you use it for your job. Do not discuss confidential information in public places such as elevators, hallways, restaurants, lobbies, and airports, where you could be overheard. Remove confidential information from meeting rooms, photocopy machines, and your desk at night. Be careful when providing information to consultants or outsourcers. And, do not receive confidential information that you are not supposed to have. If ever in doubt, ask!
