Child protection is an ongoing community effort and each of us have a role to play, whether we’re mandatory reporters, or we have a duty of care, or we just want to do what’s right. It’s up to all of us to build a child-safe work environment and culture and to take the appropriate action when we notice a behaviour raises red flags.
This course uses examples from real-life cases and stories to illustrate the kinds of things learners should look out for and the situations in which they should consider making a report. Learners will also get an overview of Australia’s complex federal, state and territory child protection regime and the international standards for children’s welfare and rights.
Who should do this training?
This course is recommended for all workers who may be in contact with children as part of their day-to-day work, including volunteers and contractors.
