Making a perfect cup of coffee is no easy task. It requires skills, knowledge and, most importantly, passion to create something so complex and delightful.
Did you know there are over 120 varieties of coffee plants? Each produces a different type of coffee bean! Of these, the two variants we consume the most are Robusta (also known as Coffea Robusta or Coffea Canephora) or Arabica (Coffea Arabica) or a combination of the two. The majority of coffee plants are grown close to the equator in an area known as the “bean belt.” But it is once they leave the soil and come to us that our journey begins.
No matter if you’re a professional, a coffee fanatic or even an avid enjoyer, this course is designed for you! You will start by learning the history of coffee and what purpose it serves in our daily lives. Next, we will look at the perfect temperature to brew coffee at and how different methods produce different tastes (and how we can affect this in our brewing method). Later on, you will also learn how to differentiate between the types of coffee and grinding methods, and how using them makes the coffee taste different with each technique.
This course will equip you with the skills required for various coffee-making techniques - such as V60 and Aeropress. By the end, you’ll be able to implement innovative methods to make the most fragrant, pleasant coffee - not only for personal enjoyment but for others as well.
Before long, you’ll be using these skills to create a cup of coffee you can take pride in, especially as you will know more about the origin and have an appreciation for the journey from bean to cup.
