Course Description

From the moment a guest walks through the doors of a hotel, they are aware of the level of cleanliness. A carpet with bits on it doesn’t give the confidence that the room will be any better.

This module develops professional knowledge of dusting techniques, including damp dusting, understanding different polish finishes and care, and cleaning different types of glass, such as mirrors, crystal,and glass tops. It also explores the effective use of manual cleaning equipment, including different types of mops and techniques, vacuuming techniques, and carpet cleaning. 

Learn the difference between a spot and a stain and key ways to remove them. There are additional key aspects to cleaning public areas that are considered including public area cloakroom areas. The module finishes with developing an understanding of periodic cleaning and storing equipment
